What do you see as the most difficult part of the training of your new Diabetic Alert Dog? What is something that they just seem to fight getting a grasp of that is frustrating? I have not gotten started on the training yet and am just getting prepared. Any tips or observations are really appreciated!!!

Hi Monty! Just a little about me, I have had my diabetic alert dog for four years now, so I have gone through the whole process. I would say the most difficult part was the young dog stage but that went fast. There was really nothing that he seemed to fight getting the grasp of, these dogs are very smart..its pretty amazing. Some tips are consistency is key and repetition. One thing that is really important is the nighttime alerts. No matter how tired you are make sure you pay attention the alerts and make sure to treat your dog so they keep doing it! Let me know if you have any more questions!
